Has anyone been able to succesfully use the on{x} script to turn on their lights when getting close to their home? If so what were some trial and error runs that you had to do? I cant seem to get my script to work. GPS is enabled and i have verified my coordinates multiple times.

I have it working successfully but it just did the job without the "password" option on the script.

var inControlPassword = "";

Interesting. I got mines to work with the password field with a value in it but its just not consistent. I just wish i knew how the region monitoring portion of it worked. I am under the impression that when you set your radius value it uses that a pre monitoring region to start gps tracking. once the gps realizes you are at the destination, activate lights. I've maybe gotten this to work 5 times. In most cases, it happened before i even pulled into my driveway or when i was home and in the living room 5 minutes later. What is your radius set at?

I didn't changed that, just followed the steps A, B and C and when I am near my house, on{X} notifies me that my lights were turned on.

Can you guys point me to the writeup on the GPS-based triggers / on{x} script?

I wonder if part of the inconsistencies you are seeing is with your device. I've got a Samsung phone that is horrible when it comes to GPS, but my LG is spot on.

I want to first apologize for bringing back this old post and also ask if there are more people trying this.

I am using it and it works great! One thing I notice is that conditions do not work since I believe it is triggered from ON{X}. What I would like to add, which I don't know how, is a way for it to only trigger between Sunset and Sunrise.

If anyone knows how to add that to the wonderful script that Ryan created that would be ideal. As for now I use it and my lights turn on regardless of what time of the day it is.

Thanks in Advance!

Has anyone tried to accomplish this, using tasker plugin instead of on{x}?
Thanks

I am open to other ways as long as the outcome is the same. Suggestions or answers would be great!
