Aeotec Multi-sensor on battery

I'm new to home automation, and just started out recently with IncontrolHA and Aeotec hardware. Mostly it's all going well except for the multi-sensor. I've got the motion sensor configured in a scene to turn on lamp with motion (between sunset and sunrise) and that works perfectly, as long as the sensor is powered from an external source. As soon as I try to run on batteries it stops working. I've turned on level logging for some of the other sensors (e.g. humidity and temp) and they stop receiving updates as well for long periods of time. Once plugged into power again, everything is fine.

Does anyone else have experience in getting this to work - is it just a configuration on the device that I need to change? I couldn't see anything obvious from reading the manual for the device.

Have you tried to update the firmware?

Also the 4 in 1 has a 4 minute timer before it resets itself. it is configurable http://www.pepper1.net/zwavedb/device/407

Thanks for that - I sent a request to Aeotec support and got a reply earlier today.
I hadn't realised that the sensor needs to be removed and re-added to the network every time is is changed from USB to battery power.
Just doing that now and will see how it goes over the weekend.

Thanks for the update. I didn't realize that battery and USB was a separate device. When I updated the firmware, I used USB for a brief moment and ended up with ghost devices. Now I know why!
