Enabling and Disabling Scenes

I am setting up a system that will allow a away mode that will enable and disable scenes using a keypad. For instance, I want to enable all motion alerts and disable remotes when I am in away mode. I don't want motion alerts all day on my email from family members moving around the house, but I do want to detect any motion at all when we are on a trip. When I select the enable checkbox it does not actually disable/enable anything. I searched the forum and found a commment that you can restart IncontrolHA to get to the right state. That worked. As you might deduce, that is not a good solution for my plans

...Is this a bug? Is it being working on? Do enables/disables work instantly via the web API?

Thanks.

I can't answer your specific question, but can offer a workaround...

Have a virtual device called 'away mode' or some-such and use it as a condition in your scenes.

That way your scenes will only fire when you've turned your 'away mode' device on.

Thanks

Bumping this...I cannot get either checkbox - 'enabled' or 'visible on mobile' to work in any consistant manner.

Sometime restarting Axial is sufficient, sometimes not. Sometimes restarting Windows works, some times not. the behviour seems completely random as to whether or not the changes will 'stick'.

Any advice?

Thanks!

Are you saying within Axial server you can't get it to "stick"? Meaning you can go check "enabled" on a scene, then close the program and re-load and it's no longer set?

That is correct :-(

It seems completely random and the failure rate (checkbox not sticking vs. checkbox sticking) is very high.

I wish I could identify some particular pattern to aid troubleshooting, but I could not.

Let me know if there's some other testing I can do.

Thanks again

I have noticed what f0ggy987 is talking about too.  When i disable (uncheck) the box, the scene still runs, and times when I check the box box, the scene won't run.  Almost like the software needs to read a refresh (off line and online reset).

f0ggy987, I wonder if you've got some sort of database corruption going on. When you get a failure next time, can you look at logfile.txt to see if there's an error entry that cooresponds to the time you saw the box not stick?
