Fibaro configuration

Hello,

I just purchased IncontrolHA Pro software and i set it up using an Aeon Z-Stick 2. I have selected the beta Z-wave drivers and all is fine regarding the controller.

I added a Fibaro Wall Plug and did the auto configuration. I checked the associations and the wall plug is associated with the controller. InControl set up the wall plug as a PowerOutlet.

The ON/OFF function works as intended but i see no energy readings at all. I understand that the readings should be in the right pane when the device is selected. All i see there is PowerOutlet and the yellow Power button.

Can anyone with experience please tell me how to see instant and total power consumption ?

Claudiu

Hi Claudiu,

I haven't tested it, but maybe it's under Event Logs (just right-click the device)

Nothing there.. just 0 and 255 so ON and OFFs.

Made some progress: it seems that associating the device with the controller on group 3 not the default group 1 pulls some data and displays it on the right pannel. It is a table with Name, Value and Label columns and 2 lines starting with "4" and "Power(2)"... not that i know what to do with them yet

Hi Claudiu,

those are chlid or slave devices (like a multi-sensor would show temperature, humidity and luminance there). Can be used to create "virtual devices" - just click on one of the bluish icon to the left of the name.

Ty for the info.

Fibaro wall plug looks ok now. The key was to set the association with the controller on group 3. It doesn't work on any other group.

Meanwhile I also connected and configured a Zwave.me key fob and it works

Next to do is to set up a Fibaro Roller Shutter 2. I want to control a garage door with it and the remote.

Hi Claudio,

the Fibaro Shutter Control works - but don't be surprised that it is identified as a dimmer :-)

Hi again,

I'm at loss here with the Fibaro shutter 2. I connected the shutter to the N and L wires to power it up. It is sitting on my desk so far as i don't want to install it to the final location until i'm sure it works.
InControl sees it as a Dimmerswitch just as you mentioned. Also it shows 3 parameter reports in the right pane: Brightness, 4, Power (2).

Problem is that if i press the Power button on the device icon it doesn't do anything. It just stays all light up in yellow. Sliding the dimmer control bar from 254 to 0 turns it off but just so that it switches back on by itself in about 6-7 seconds.

Also it doesn't do any ticking sound at all..

Any ideea what is going on please?

Claudiu

Hi Claudiu,

do you have the load (i.e. the roller shutter, marquee, or whatever) already attached and connected? After powering up, it goes back to 0 as soon as the shutter has reached its endpoint (either up or down endpoint) - which is the required behaviour. Just try attaching it to a load and do a test - should work.

Cheers,

Seems it doesn't work without a load. Now it is connected to a load and works as expected

Another newbie question this time about controlling InControl from an Iphone/Ipad: I'm trying to use the direct connect from the IOS app. Hostame set ok, server port I left it the default one 8711, tried with and without password: all i get is Invalid username or password. I don't see any username field in the direct connect settings.. Do i still have to have a cloud username/pass to use the direct connect feature?

It's got to be the same username/password you set in InControl server (under Options)

Yeah but for some reason it only works with cloud connection. Direct Connection refuses to work.

I'm filling this thread with questions as i just started out with Zwave so please be nice to me

Is there any way to have sunrise/sundown values in the default Weather device? Want to make some scenes based on those values.

Regards,

Claudiu

awlieser posted this 10 January 2015

Hi Claudiu,

sunset and sunrise are available as time triggers in scenes. You have to set your local coordinates (Lat/Lon) under Options first. Then you have to tinker a bit with the time offsets (i.e. sunrise plus 120 min) to meet your locat sunrise/sunset times. Reason is that the InControlHA does not consider DST.

Do you happen to know of any IR device that works with Incontrol + Aeon Z-Stick2 so i can control both my AV stuff and the air conditioning?

awlieser posted this 10 January 2015

Hi Claudi,

I know that those gateways are available, but have no personal experience with them I suggest doing a search on the forum (or other HA forums). One caveat: Before you buy one, make sure it works with InControlHA (there's a thread on the forum on what works to which extent)

Here's the link:

I wonder why it says AV.. Would it work also on AC units? Do you guys test it or just implement the functions?
Not much info about that model on google.

Remotec does AC specifically, for AV have a look at iTach

You might grab the zentools that I link in my signature and verify that the USB stick really knows about the device. I assume since you reset the USB stick that all the devices inside of InControl have been removed/deleted from the device list?

Claudiu posted this 14 January 2015

Nice tool.

Yes the usb stick knows about the 4 devices added.

They show up as binary switches

What next?

So the devices show up in Zensys, but not InControl? Go offline in InControl, close it then delete your logfile.txt. Start it back up again and then create a Gist with the content and link to it in here so I can see if there's anything going on with your connection to the USB stick.

reset the stick again, added only 1 device, the same... still the device shows in the tool

Based on the logfile, this looks like a bug with the latest 4.0 pre-release. I'll try to get you a fix for it today.

Claudiu posted this 14 January 2015

ok. waiting here

Ryan-Scott posted this 14 January 2015

Actually, I take it back... it's not a bug per-se - the problem is that you apparently had a version 4.0 pre-release going that added a new field to your DB that makes it incompatible with your current version 3.

You'd need to go back to version, or find a db editor program and remove the "batteryLevel" field from the zwavedevices table.

Claudiu posted this 14 January 2015

Well i didnt get to choose what version i have.. pressed the download button and that was it..
Give me a link with a stable version pls

Or better yet tell me in which file i have to remove and what exactly pls

Or both

Did you previously have a version 4 installed?

Here's 4.0.5490. It's not official so probably not what I'd considered "stable" - though I do run it in my own home and don't experience any issues.

Can you include your logfile contents? Also, please make sure the Zentools is turned off before attempting to go online with InControl - otherwise it'll be unable to access the USB stick.

What do you mean by grayed out?

Can you do this to get your log (the last one looks like it got cut off):

1- Click the offline button
2- Close InControl
3- Delete the logfile.txt
4- Start InControl, verify that it shows a green online button in the lower right
5- Wait 5 mins, then include the full log using a Gist
