Once you have your correct location information (lat/long) set under Tools->Options->Misc, you should be able to click on the Weather device and see information returned in the right-hand side of the Devices page. For instance you should see a list of various weather related values (Current Temperature, Temperature Forecast, Precipitation Forecast, etc.). You can create a specific virtual device for any one of those returned values by clicking on the blue icon with a green plus sign in it.

For instance, you can create a Virtual Device for the Current Temperature. Within a scene, you can now use that new virtual device to control a scene (for instance turn on a heat lamp to warm your walkway if the temperature falls below a certain value).

The weather device you are seeing is a virtual device that is automatically included in InControl. Make sure you set your proper location (lat/long) coordinates to have this device return accurate information you can use in controlling scenes (the setting for location lat/long is under Tools->Options->Misc.).

Thank you, bhghes.

I suspected this, as I don't have any other zwave device besides the Plug Socket.
Which kind of information returns the weather device and how can I see this information?

Thanks in advance,

Angel

I set up the long and lat values, but I did't get any results in the right-hand side of the Devices page. Maybe is this because it is the free version of InControl?

Thank

You may need to restart InControl (or go offline/online again) -- then wait a few minutes for the info to show up.

If I go offline/online, nothing happens(waiting for 20 min).

If I exit from InControl and restart it, the symbol between the cloud and the online/offline switch start spinning (and doesn't stop after 20 min).

What would happen if I delete the weather device? Would this reset it?

Thanks

Just checking - does the computer you have InControl installed on have Internet access (for the Weather Virtual Device to reach out to update its values)?

For sure! It's the one I'm writing to you.

Maybe it is because is the InControl FREE version....

As it said the webpage http://www.incontrolha.com/download/featureMatrix the free version doesn't have sensor support...Is the weather device considered as a sensor?

Thanks
