Using InControl As secondary controller

Hey everyone, I'm only mildly dipping my feet into home automation atm, and as it stands i'm only working with about a dozen GE Jasco light switches being controlled by Vivint with their brand new Skycontrol Panel. The alarm panel itself is nice and i'd like to keep their system as a main controller to continue using their app for my remote control, The question I have is about changing parameters and advanced settings on the Jasco switches. Unfortunately I dont think the Vivint GUI is advanced enough to modify these settings, and the Incontrol system seems incredibly easy to do so. Is there any way to mesh these two systems together In a way that lets me use the vivint system? If I use the vivint panel as a secondary control panel, will I have to keep a zwave usb dongle permanently powered to preserve any configuration settings I have saved for the lightswitches?

Any help at all is appreciated, I feel very green here.

I'm not familiar with the Vivint system, but if there's a way to setup a secondary remote, Vivint would have to support it. I would guess they do... check out this thread about using the USB stick as a secondary to smartthings and it may get you on the right path.

Assuming it does, you'll be able set the settings using InControl and then not worry about keeping it powered as the settings, once set, will stay set.
