Yeah I did try using InControl but it would not find it.

Instructions say while inserting battery press the button. I started InControl and navigated to Tools-->Z-Wave Commands-->Add Device, while inserting the battery and pressing the button. All within 5 seconds and nothing.

If there is another way of doing it, please advise. Thanks Ryan!

Tried to get the First Alert going as it is Z-Wave but realized InControl does not work with it. I needed them anyway so I'll keep them.

I truly hope they can be added to InControl in the future.

If it's the z-wave version of the First Alert smoke/co2 detector, those do work with InContorl... however, I've got to admit that they were a major pain to work with because of how they were built. If I recall, there's no way to "wake it up" to configure it after the fact, so you have to use InControl to add it to your network and then get all your configuration done in a short span of like 20 seconds.

You might try to reset it first by doing an exclude/remove. Sometimes they leave it included into another z-wave network at the factory and forget to reset it.

Thanks Ryan, I'll give that a try. I'll be away from home this weekend, so I'll let you know the results next week.

I have that from Lowes. Always get an error #13 from it (which I believe is a status error). Never had it go off so don't know what type of alert it would give. I at least can manage the battery level from Incontrol. As I recall there was either a button or as soon as you put the batteries in it you had to add it to your zwave network.

Ryan, you were correct! I had to remove it first before I could add.

Thanks again for your support!
