With InControl, you can add widgets to the screen. Probably not the same as shortcut, but maybe it'll work for what you are needing with SwipePad?

I looked for the widget but can't find it. What's up?

Greetings!
I've been looking at screenshots of the InControl Android app and while I think it's very attractive and that it fits more devices on screen at one time than other platforms, I still wish I could see more than the 6-7 it seems to show. Is this possible?

There's one other thing that AutHomation allows me to do that I would miss if I switched to a new system. It lets me create shortcuts on my phone so I can quickly run scenes. I can put these scenes on my home screen, but I actually do something a little different. I have an app called SwipePad that lets me choose an area of my screen (I chose the top-right corner), and when I swipe in from that area a grid of icons comes up. When I let go of the screen over an icon it's launched. My SwipePad is set up with a dozen of my most-used scenes, so that I can execute them in two seconds no matter where I am. I don't have to open up an app and go to scenes, all I have to do is unlock my phone and swipe.

Does the Android app allow for creating shortcuts? I know that shortcuts on Android in general have been depreciated by Google, but some apps still use them

Anyway, I look forward to trying out InControl in the near future, as soon as I get my USB stick. Thanks for your help.

There's not really a condensed view of devices, but you can view them by groups, rooms, etc. One useful option is to view all powered on devices. What's your specific scenario for needing to see a 12 a time?

Thanks!

It's hard for me to think of a specific scenario, but it's mostly about how long it takes to scroll through the list of devices and find the one I need in a pinch. I'm all about efficiency and speed of control with my system. Rather than devices, actually, I should have said scenes. I have a lot of scenes, so I'd really want to be able to see as many scenes at once as possible.

Unfortunately, SwipePad doesn't handle widgets as well as I'd like. When you let go on the icon for the widget, it brings that widget up as an overlay on the screen, and THEN you can interact with the widget. It doesn't execute on that first release, so it's a little slower.

So you can put widgets on a home screen to launch specific scenes? That might be enough. It's certainly better than other platforms.

Again, I really shouldn't complain. From what I've seen, InControl is already ahead of the game compared to platforms like Wink and SmartThings. With those apps, sometimes you can only see 4 devices or scenes on the screen at once, which is ridiculous. And have you seen the latest app for Vera's UI7? Sometimes you can only see less than 2 things on the screen at once!

They should be listed as "IHA" - there are two of them "IHA Device Status" and "IHA Scene Activation." The device status is really only useful in the paid version of the app though since it requires push notifications.

My apologies, I found them (I have so many darn available widgets). I like the widgets, but I do wish that I could make them smaller. It's not the end of the world, but I'd like to fit more on a screen...
