Ryan can clear it up but I do remember reading somewhere that it changed due to some changes in the servers that push the notifications and charges from them.
Initially the free app was fine but then there started to be some bugs and I think things forked from there.

Main thing is the tasker intergration.
From memory, you may find it here on the forum somewhere but there was something about the push servers as well.

Yeah, I read this thread before posting but it was unclear to me as it said if you have the Server Pro edition you do not need to buy this app. However in an update it mentions it is necessary. Not sure which is it.
