Switch goes MIA

This isn't an Incontrol issue but I'd thought I'd post here since many enthusiasts probably use Aeon labs Zwave USB stick or something like it.

Every once in awhile I have a light switch go in limbo. It's happened 3-4 times now and it's never occurred with the same switch. The switch still seems paired to the USB stick (at least the USB stick thinks so), yet the USB stick isn't communicating with the switch. I currently have a switch in this state. Interestingly when I try to toggle the switch in IC, the blue ring LED on the USB stick goes out. At this point IC doesn't accept any other inputs which is expected because it seems the USB stick is offline yet it still shows up in Windows Device manager. After about 30 seconds (my guess a timeout value) the blue ring lights up again on the USB stick. At this point IC is also responsive again and the targeted switch didn't do anything.

I do have all the same light switches (GE ones). At first I thought it was a distance issue but the switch that is currently in this 'limbo' state is one in the same room as the USB stick. The only resolution I've had with this is to un-pair the switch with the USB stick, then re-pair it.

Has anyone had this issue with their Zwave controller/zwave devices? I'm wondering if either the Aeon labs USB stick is just crappy or the switches are.

I've had this happen a bunch of times with a Leviton controller I've got. Same thing - I have to exclude it then remove it again. I haven't seen it happen with any of my Evolve switches though.
