I understand that the iOS app hasn't been updated since 2014 but the app won't work outside my network, my network has all the necessary ports redirected there is no firewall I disabled the password (since the server told me so). Is this the regular behaviour or there is a bug?
iPhone App won't work outside the network

Do you mean when you use direct connect it won't work outside your network? Can you describe your setup (which connection method, what IP address if using direct connect, etc.)?
Cloud connect should work outside and inside your network, as it bounces the commands off of a server in the cloud. If you use direct connect and your internal IP address, it will only work inside your network. If you want direct connect to work anywhere, you'll need to find out your external ip and use that, then forward port 8711 to your Axial computer.
Thank you, yes. it doesn't work If I use direct connect outside my network. I have a static ip and also a domain. (I am a Software Engineed by the way) Cloud connect does indeed work.
I used both the ip and the domain, ports are fowarded. If I do a port scan the web api port 1178 works but the server port doesn't work (8711). I already tried changing the ports. I even swap them with no results.
Ok I can confirm that it is working right now. This is what i did. Not only you need to uncheck the box for "Server Requires Password" but you must also remove any password that you had written before. I also changed the port and restarted the server and now it works.
I dont want to say the obvious but the password functionality must be restored.
Axial Control is by far the easiest Zwave Server software for Windows, I have tested others and they simply do not work.
Strange, when using direct connect, there's no difference vs internal/external IP - it's just a matter of being able to connect to and communicate with a given port. If the pwd works internally, it should also work externally as there's no functional change in what's going on (in fact, the app itself doesn't make a distinction between internal/external).
I did just notice that Apple had removed our other more recent version from the store... it could be that the 2014 free version has an issue related to the server password. I'll take another peek at it in the AM to see if there's something amiss.

If you didn't see from other threads, you can go grab the paid version which is on sale for a few days (as in free) - I'm interested to hear if that version will work as expected on your network.
Thank you I will check it out.
