I understand the Roomba 560 is a special zigbee protocol. correct me if I am wrong, but I guess if I were to request a "feature" it would be a full fledged support for a zigbee usb stick that can actually talk to the roomba's special zigbee dialect and a plugin (as was done with the WeeMo)?

That's correct.
On a side note, that's pretty cool about the Roomba. What kind of features can you tell it to do using zigbee?

I guess that'd provide a full spectrum for zigbee and zwave if one can emulate the protocols dynamically.
bring on the robot lawn mower.
