Thanks for all the replies, folks! The device is added to InControl, I just can't do anything with it via InControl. I can't set any properties. I can't manage codes. I can't unlock/lock remotely. All the features that were behind me choosing a keyless lock with Z-wave. I don't know how using the new "network wide" "add device" option would affect anything - the device is already present and already recognized correctly.

Dumb question but you do have the Z wave module in it? I know some also have a Zigbee one and some come without the module installed.

I also have a Yale lock that fails polls with "command expires" but I haven't worried about it too much since it functions properly in all other regards.
Did you follow the correct inclusion procedure? http://incontrolha.com/recipes/recipe/18 You have to include it from within the GUI (as opposed to taking your controller to the lock).
Thanks
Now that you mention it I did get a lot of command expired with it too but mine functioned.
From what you have written yours doesn't?
Josh
I'm just going to throw this out there... InControl has a new "add device" option that uses the "network wide" - which means you can use that to add your lock and won't need to be sitting next to it. Even though it says not for secure devices, it generally works.

Since the lock requires security keys to be exchanged with InControl, you can't add directly using a z-wave controller -- (i.e, if you used your z-stick push button and walked up to the lock, it'll include but won't work).
For functionality of a lock, you need the following:
1) The lock's nearest neighboring device needs to be able to "beam" to your lock to wake it up; this device needs to have newer z-wave chips on it. Aeon Labs, Evolve and Linear are good options here. GE/Jasco and Leviton don't typically have this.
2) The inclusion must be initialized using InControl. Otherwise the device will appear in your list, but won't be controllable.
