i have been running IC on an older Windows XP laptop for about a year. in the last 2 months i notice that about twice a week IC goes non responsive (via my iphone app or laptop) and i have to close and reopen the IC app on my laptop to get things working again. what could be going on? is this an IC issue? ISP issue? WinXP issue? all of thee above? none of thee above?
also, ever since i have set up IC i notice that there is a 5-15 second delay in the activation of a device when triggered. is this a PC processor speed issue? would updating to a faster computer help the delay?
thanks

When it goes non-responsive, does the server show "offline" or "disconnected" on the bottom icons?

The delay could be unrelated to anything CPU related. Sometimes it can mean you are polling a device that is either sleeping (like a sensor) or a device that is out of range or dead. If you have a USB stick, watch the light on it to see if it ever goes dark for an extended period of time. Also, if you are running a later version of InControl, look through your logfile.txt to see if it shows any failed communication attempts.

Usually it shows offline but not always. why is it going offline?

i am only using; lights, thermostats, and locks. that is where i experience the delays.

thanks

If it shows offline you should open a support ticket and send us your logfile.txt. Support site is at http://incontrolha.uservoice.com
