Perfect. My larger issue was that I couldn't find any drivers. I followed the link you provided and have already set up two appliance switches and 2 scenes. Loving it so far.

thank you for the assistance.

Hello,

I just jumped into Z-Wave a few weeks ago and so I am new to all this. U decided to start small so after much research I bought the Aeon Labs Z-Stick along with the Pro version of InControl. Unfortunately, there is no "How to begin" tutorial. I loaded the InControl software and when the Setup came to device type I chose USB. At that point I plugged in my USB stick as the screen indicated that it was going to search the COM ports for it.

Upon plugging in my Z-Stick Windows attempted to load the driver and failed. No problem I thought. I started the process of searching for a connected USB device but after about 10 minutes I was told that no device was found.

Help me out here. What steps did I miss and what do I need to do differently to get this thing to be associated with my computer so that I can begin building my Z-Wave network.

Thanks,

-Paul

Do you know what drivers you tried to install? There are some on Aeon Labs website as well as these directly from Silicon Labs: http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx (you want the VCP Driver Kit). You should also update your firmware.
