I tried for about 8 hours to delete devices no longer used. I tried the delete key - which should be labeled a "hide" key, zen-tools and looking for a database. I see this topic in forms and some people have success, but I can't figure it out. What is the step by step procedure for dummies.

Thanks

If you are unable to remove the device normally using your USB stick, then the next best bet is to use Zentools to "remove failed device." It's one of the icons at the top - you can hover your mouse over each one to get a little popup window that tells you the description. If I recall though, it's one that has a red "x" on it.

I should note that I've seen times where even the "remove failed device" didn't work; in those cases, your only real option is to perform a reset on your USB stick and start from scratch.

I go [categories][settings][detect][ok]. I get this error "The required Z-Wave controller device was not found. Use Settings dialog to select the COM port that has the controller connected to. Under [Settings][Communications] I see the "Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM8)"

This is the same COM port that the software detects the USB controller on my computer. The controller is turning on/off lights fine. I tried to detect the controller online and offline and get the same response.

I cannot hover my mouse over any tools because Zen-Tools cannot detect the controller.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks
