Goal: Turn my light on and then off and have a command happen with a scene.
How I'm going to do it: Through a virtual device that gets tripped for 30 seconds (auto-shutoff) and when that virtual device is ON and the device shuts off then the scene happens that I want. This will add more functionality to an on/off switch. You could set it to play music, open the blinds, or do whatever.
Problem: Right now when I turn off a light switch IC takes 15-20 seconds to register the command through polling and then turns on the virtual device. It's also anywhere between 4-40 seconds... I have tried smart polling, using 1-5 second polling times etc. I did make the USB stick the master so the command must be going directly there first when the command is issued? Any ideas?

When you turn it off, do you mean when you physically turn the switch off at the wall?
If you have a switch that supports associations, you can setup an association between your USB stick and the switch itself. Do this by first clicking the switch, then clicking the associations button, then checking the USB stick. When you do this, the switch itself will notify InControl when it is changed manually by someone at the wall.

Your instructions worked perfectly. Now I have instant feedback in InControl for those devices that were within range of my controller. The CA600's do have device association apparently.
For others, this gives you another 'button' that you could have certain commands associate with different web commands or devices by pressing 'on and then off' at your light switch. Ie. Music, blinds, etc You could also have different commands based on the time that you do it. Ie. at night maybe you want an all off feature for your house or an easy way for your kids to let you know they need you (throw in an email for the scene).
