When the USB dongle is plugged into the computer to control the z-wave devices, does the computer have to be on? Sleep mode?
Might be a dumb question sorry, but don't know what is in the dongle and if it stores and send the command and the computer is just used for the interface, of if the computer is running the timers and telling the dongle when to send z-wave command. THANKS.

Hey 12many -

You are correct, the computer will need to be on if you want to do any "InControl" specific things, like control devices from your phone, set timers, activate scenes, etc. If the PC goes to sleep, you'll lose the ability to perform those functions.

Ok. Thanks Ryan for the fast reply.

Not the answer I was hoping for as I did not want to leave my computer on 24-7. I will investigate that option though. Maybe I can set up an extra computer or laptop for just the zwave system.

Since you are here, what is the most stable, easiest to use software that you have? I only have about 5 lights/switches.

Thanks

Chad
