I am starting to build a new home to live in thereafter, so I'm thinking of getting a home automation setup. I want to be able to control lights (well, lamps really), home theater (mostly audio, including set zones around the house) from a central touch screen/smart phone/web interface.
However, I am unable to decide which brand to go for or where to get more information on home automation. My friend advised me to go for intraHouse and InControl. What would you suggest?

I have a Vera 3 that I have had nothing but problems with. Plugins are untested and most have issues that will lock up the controller. Even without any plugins configured, mine would run out of memory and lock up so much that I scheduled a reboot every night, and it still sometimes locked up to the point of needing a power cycle.
They just updated to UI-7, and the web interface that was decent under UI-6 is now horrible and full of bugs.
I can not recommend Vera to anyone, InControl is much better. Just get a Z-Stick and InControl.
