I actually just did this but I didn't use the transfer method. I wanted a clean slate so I just simply shutdown IC, took out the USB stick and went around and removed everything. This only took about 2 minutes to do for me (little over 30 devices). After that I plugged in the old USB stick and started IC. It prompted to remove the devices. I then shut it down again, removed the old USB stick, took the new USB stick and paired devices (I haven't paired them all yet). Plugged in the new USB stick and set up the controller. It worked out of the box just as its supposed to.
Again for me, I wanted to start over, scenes, devices, etc... so this may not be optimal for you.

Thanks for the response, but I think I'll hold off doing that as a last resort. I really would like to keep all of my settings and scenes and just transfer them.
I wish someone from InControl would respond, does anyone work there?

This has been asked quite a lot since the Gen5 came out. Here's a good reference to accomplish this:

Note that I did this myself and wasn't happy with the results -- it seems the new controller forgot some of the routes -- so I reset and started over anyway.

Thanks for all of your responses and suggestion. I actually tried to use zensys-tools and it seemed to have worked but I was getting some flakeyness in my scenes and lots of command timeouts. So I decided to start from scratch, as what was suggested from the beginning. Too bad there isn't an easy process to move up to a newer controller. I can see if someone has tons of devices and scenes starting from scratch might be an issue and if they tried the zensys-tools method, I wonder how messed up their network would be.

How has your experience with the gen5 stick been? I'm considering trying ICHA again but this time with the newer Aeon Labs Z-Stick Gen5 instead of the S2 stick I have now. Might have better luck.

What problems do you have with the S2? Asking out of curiosity because I recently got an S2 and while I have run into some problems here and there, I don't believe any of them have to do with the S2.
