Thanks for the quick reply.

Here is what I'm trying to do...

I have bought a couple of Wemos and have tried connecting to them using my Blackberry Z10 but without success. ;-(
- so I haven't been able to finalize the connetcion (ie. enter the password for my hiome wi-fi network.

So I came across InControl and am wondering if I can use it, along with the Wemo plugin to activate the Wemo and control it using my Winndows notebook... ( that is, without needing to initially "set up" the Wemo using the appln running on an iphone or android device (which I don't own)...

Many thanks and regards.

InControl requires that the device be configured first... the only way to do that is via an adhoc WiFi connection; so either way you'll need to use your Blackberry or another smart phone to configure it before InControl can connect to it.

Can I try playing around controlling my Wemo using the free version of InControl?

You'll need the WeMo plugin to control your WeMo devices and since the Free version of InControl can't use plugins, you'll need either Standard or Pro. We can hook you up with a trial of standard or pro, but there's not currently a way to trial the WeMo plugin itself.

OK thanks again for being so responsive - am impressed on how well you support your products!

That's what I figured regarding having to pre-config Wemo - and wish I could do that with my BB (Z10 and Playbook) but it doesn't quite work with the Wemo...

Am now thinking I'll look into borrowing an iphone or android and set up the Wemo on my home wifi that way and then I can look at using InControl to control it from Windows...

Thanks again and best regards.
