Aeon Labs Z-Wave door / window sensor battery level

I have installed a Aeon Labs Z-Wave door / window sensor and have successfully associated the sensor with the controller by waking it up and running an auto configure. The sensor is successfully communicating Tripped/Closed messages. However, I don't see where I can obtain the battery level from the sensor?

Once the device is associated shouldn't I be able to monitor the battery level?

Thanks,
Matt

Yes, associations are required for battery level reporting. However, it's up to the sensor to send the reports.... that may not happen right away though. It could take minutes to hours to get the report. Also, some sensors require special configuration to know they should send the report. Check out the device library to see if your sensor requires any special setup.

Lolakr,

See my post here. The D/W sensor apparently only sends battery level when the switch is opened/closed. (I posted a link to a PDF there.)

If it is, InControl doesn't process it. Mine still blank and the doors are triggered daily.

I have one, plus two of the 4-in-1 motion sensors. I had to do the auto-configure for the battery level to show.

You might try removing/re-adding to see if that does the trick?

I've only got one of these sensors. The other ones I use are the Schlage ones. I haven't had an issues with the Schlage ones, but I get all kinds of issues with the Aeon ones. (Not the 4-in-1 sensors, they are working well for me).

The Aeon sensor gives me false readings and doesn't periodically wake up, however it was showing the battery level correctly.
I tried to fix the other issues. I removed it from my network and re-included it. The stability appears to be better but now I don't get the battery level anymore and it still doesn't wake up.

I read somewhere that you can do a factory reset of the device, which is what I wanted to try, by setting parameter 255 to 1, however I can't do this in InControl as it won't retrieve anything first to enable the Set button.

From what I read the battery information is supposed to be sent every time it is activated (i.e. opened or closed), that was working for me until I removed and re-added it.

That's good to know about the Schlage. I'll try one of those on my next door project.
