I use the iPhone app more than the computer interface and have just added a doorlock and soon to add a battery powered thermostat.
I noticed the doorlock showed the battery level in HA Server.
Would be nice to have this on my iPhone which I look at every day rather than (Or in addition to) the PC program which I only really look at when setting up a new device or testing / troubleshooting.

You can also click the "Link" button next to the battery level sensor to create a device for that sensor. Then it will show in your device list with the battery level.

Going by my rusty memory, I think someone wrote a script to email battery status when low. Can't seem to find it at the moment.
