Thanks for the response.

This appears to have been a problem with my computer. A clean install on a new system shows excellent performance by incontrol - almost no CPU consumption at all.

Thanks for your reply.

is anyone else seeing high CPU utilization from Incontrol?

I use a Dell Latitude e6400, which is a core2 duo system. Its a little older, but up until recently, It's been running great.

Builds prior to 3.105 performed just fine. I use this system as a sort of entertainment center running XBMC as well. I noticed while I had one of the of the release candidates for Incontrol that XBMC would play for a few minutes, and then video would start to break up.

I've narrowed it down to Incontrol. At this point, if I uninstall Incontrol, the system performs as expected (idle CPU utilization is typically around 2% or less). Once I start Incontrol, the CPU goes to nearly 100% and stays there. The UI is still somewhat responsive, but I cannot do anything else with the computer because it is so sluggish.

I have tried uninstalling Incontrol (after uninstall, performance is normal). Then deleting the SDF file and letting it create a new file - as soon as I restart Incontrol, CPU utilization goes right back up again.

This certainly could be a problem with my PC. Fortunately, I have another computer that's faster that I want to use for Incontrol, so I'll try switching to the other computer to see if things are better - I just wanted to check to see if other people were experiencing this problem.

When we've seen this, there are usually a few reasons that can cause it:
1- Scenes with overly aggressive time triggers. Usually a time trigger that repeats every second or two can cause a problem.
2- Devices that spam data to the server. Some devices send reports to the server about changes, like motion sensors, energy devices. We've seen that -- especially with the case of the Aeon Labs in-wall switches, they'll send many messages to InControl and cause problems. To isolate these, turn on device audits and look at your logs to see if anything is sending lots of data.
