I have been using a GE 45601 remote controller to control several lights for a few years. It is a real pain to reprogram as the seasons change but otherwise works fine. The Aeon stick and InControl software seems like a logical solution except that I do not want to leave my pc on all the time; and certainly need something to control the lights when I'm away on trips and have my pc with me. Buying another pc to serve as a server make no sense.

So can I use the Aeon stick as the primary, have it send instructions to the GE 45601 periodically, and just use the GE to control the lights automatically, as I always have?

An alternative would be a Z-wave remote with a USB port, similar the Harmony remote which controls my home theater; if I could find such a device.
